What renting moving totes in Oxnard actually costs, how long you get them, and how to time delivery around a Ventura County move day.

If you're moving in Oxnard, the box question comes up early: buy cardboard, scrounge free boxes behind a grocery store, or rent totes? We're a family-run Ventura County business, and we deliver reusable totes all over Oxnard — from Riverpark and Seabridge to the older neighborhoods off Saviers. Here's the straight math on cost, timing, and what actually works on a local move day.

What it costs

Our packages are flat — delivery and pickup in Ventura County are included, and a dolly comes with every rental:

  • Studio — $119: small one-room moves and first apartments.
  • 1-Bedroom — $149: the most common Oxnard apartment move.
  • 2-Bedroom — $199: our most popular package.
  • 3-Bedroom — $299 and 4-Bedroom — $379 for full houses.

Need longer? Add extra days at checkout — $20/day for the first three days, $12/day after, up to 10 extra days — and the pickup date moves out automatically. Compare that to buying cardboard: a 2-bedroom move usually runs 40–50 boxes plus tape, and you're still assembling every one by hand and breaking them down after. See the full breakdown on our pricing section or the rent vs. buy comparison.

How long you keep them

  • Studio and 1-bedroom: 5 days.
  • 2-bedroom: 1 week.
  • 3-bedroom: 7 days.
  • 4-bedroom: 10 days.

That's usually plenty. Most Oxnard moves are short-hop — across town, up to Ventura, or over to Camarillo — so packing and unpacking land inside the same week.

Timing your delivery in Oxnard

A few things we've learned delivering here:

  • Get totes 3–4 days before move day. One evening per room is a comfortable pace, and totes stack, so they don't eat your living room the way cardboard piles do.
  • Book weekend slots early. Saturday mornings at the start and end of the month go first — that's when most Ventura County leases turn over.
  • Watch the coastal mornings. Marine layer means damp driveways and porches near Seabridge and Hollywood Beach. Cardboard soaks it up; sealed plastic totes don't.
  • Plan the parking. In apartment complexes off Gonzales or Rose, tell us where to stage the drop so you're not carrying totes across the lot.

Packing tips that matter locally

Each tote holds up to 65 lbs — which is easy to exceed with books or dishes, so mix heavy and light. Pack kitchens with our kitchen packing guide, and work room by room using the moving checklist so nothing gets loaded twice.

And when you're done, there's nothing to flatten, recycle, or haul to the curb. We pick the totes up, clean them, and they go back out — roughly 40 cardboard boxes kept out of the landfill per rental. More on that in our zero-waste moving workflow.

The local angle

We're based right here and serve Oxnard, Ventura, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Santa Paula. That means same-week delivery, real phone numbers, and a neighbor dropping the totes off — not a national dispatch queue.
